At the beginning of the meeting, the President of Ilam University of Medical Sciences, while congratulating the Fajr revolution Days and welcoming the Secretary of the Dental and Specialized Education Council of the Ministry of Health, said:
Ilam Dental School started operating in 1991 and has not been officially approved by the Ministry of Health in terms of space, facilities and medical and educational equipment.
Over the years, I and other former university deans have tried to organize this complex to be accepted as a faculty of the Ministry of Health.
In the last two years that I have been the dean of the university, the problems, challenges and needs of this faculty have been identified and despite many financial problems; Upgrading it in terms of facilities and equipment and educational and office space is a priority.
Fortunately, according to the Ministry of Health, this school is one of the best dental schools in the country.
While the students of the dental school are satisfied with the training and its facilities and equipment, we intend to attract foreign students to this school with the support of the Ministry of Health.
In the continuation of this meeting, the head of the leadership institution in the university, while congratulating the Fajr revolution Days and welcoming the Secretary of the Dental and Specialized Education Council of the Ministry of Health; He referred to the efforts made to set up a dental school.
Hojjat-ul-Islam and Muslims Hashemi asked the secretary of the Dental and Specialized Education Council of the Ministry of Health to pay more attention to the fact that Ilam province is among the most deprived and underprivileged provinces in the country.
Hojjat-ul-Islam and Muslims Hashemi also stated that Ilam University of Medical Sciences needs more support from the officials of the Ministry of Health in order to be able to serve more people.
In the continuation of this meeting, Dr. Behzad Hooshmand, Secretary of the Dental and Specialized Education Council of the Ministry of Health, while appreciating the efforts of university officials and staff in serving the people, said:
Our intention and goal is to help Ilam Dental School in terms of its infancy and the appropriate action of university officials in relation to its establishment.
Colleges that are far from the center of the country will have more support from us to ensure educational justice for them.
Improving the level of health literacy in the country is one of the needs today and medical universities have a pivotal and decisive role in this regard.
Fortunately, Ilam University of Medical Sciences has been able to make significant progress in the field of dentistry.
Ilam Dental School has the ability to be among the best schools in the country.
This college is currently in the best condition in terms of educational and medical space, facilities and equipment, and it can take steps to attract foreign students and be a good representative for the country in the international arena.
In the continuation of this meeting, the deputies of different fields of the university welcomed the Secretary of the Dental and Specialized Education Council of the Ministry of Health; they expressed their views and opinions.
